VIVIAN AND HER SISTER began when composer Dave Schroeder wrote this  piece of music, based on his mother’s relationship with her sister. I drew from the narrative behind the music and the relationships within that story, to create the choreography. Working with visual artist Ellen Colcord and having her artwork projected onto the set was also especially inspiring, and it was this collaborative effort between composer, choreographer and visual artists that brought VIVIAN AND HER SISTER to life. – Alison Cook-Beatty
