This year\, Mayor Ben Blake will be honored for his support of the arts and educational outreach events. Incorporating static and dynamic warm-up movements\, hatha-based yoga\, Pilates-based exercises\, multi-planar full-body strengthening exercises\, and active isolated stretching techniques\, participants will develop balance\, flexibility\, and core-based strength while improving their aerobic and anaerobic fitness. Suitable for all abilities and fitness levels\, this high-energy class is a healthy\, fun\, and challenging approach to achieving a superb physique and superior level of fitness. Strong classical technique grounded in American Modern Dance is the foundation of this class. Passes across the floor develop throughout the course\, working into simple combinations that incorporate the repertoire of Alison Cook Beatty Dance. Performance technique\, musicality\, and the joy and passion of dancing are emphasized. As a resident choreographer of The Joffrey Ballet School\, Alison Cook Beatty is delighted to have this opportunity to share her company’s work with you!\n\nBallroom AND MORE\nTony Musco has an extensive background in ballroom dance\, ballet\, modern\, jazz and performance art. Tony was trained with the Fred Astaire Dance Studios in New York City and teaches American style ballroom. He brings dance and theater background to his classes. Tony’s purpose is to teach people to move easily and joyously to the rhythms of life. The dance styles that will be taught are Swing\, Lindy\, Cha-Cha\, Rumba and Merengue. Tony believes ballroom dancing is like walking\, but walking to music. Plus move with ease and confidence with another person without stepping on one another toes. Everyone is welcomed!
