DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”686054″]\n\n\n\n\nPerformance Noon – 12:30 p.m. (Private Event closed to Campers)\nWorkshop and Q&A 12:30 p.m.- 1 p.m. (Private Event closed to Campers) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPerformance 2 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Open to Public)\nWorkshop and Q&A 2:30 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. (Open to Public) \n$10 tickets cash and PAypal excepted at door.  \nDenison Pequotsepos Nature Center\n109 Pequotsepos Rd\nMystic\, CT 06355 \nFREE EVENT FOR CAMPERS \nThe Dragons Egg and Mystic Paper Beasts present this performance and workshop\, led by Marya Ursin and Dan Potter and partly by NEFA ARTS\, New England States Touring (NEST) Grant. \n\n\n\nPresented by The Dragons Egg and partially supported by New England States Touring (NEST) Grant from NEFA ARTS. The Company will be performing and hosting a workshop with movement and arts and crafts led by Artist Director Alison Cook-Beatty and her company dancers\, Maddie Burnett\, Ioanna Ioannides\, Payton Primer\, TomIzlav Nevistić\, Madeline Kuhlke\, Jacob Blank\, and Emily Masia. \nThe theme of the performance is based on Alison’s work “Murmuration\,” set to Italian Composer Ottorino Respighi: Gli Uccelli The Birds. This piece is heavily inspired by the aerial ballet of the starlings that gather in flocks called murmurations. The dancers will perform a site-specific dance variation within the beautiful outdoor space of Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center.  \nWe are honored to perform this piece based on birds at the Nature Center. Denison is a federally licensed wildlife rehabilitation and education facility that regularly takes in\, rehabilitates\, and cares for native creatures. Their goal is to release healthy animals back into areas of suitable habitat and specialize in birds of prey and songbirds.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAudience Members will participate in folding origami cranes with the dancers that will be collected and be a part of an art exhibition at Windhover Performing Arts Center in Rockport\, MA. Bird masks will also be created\, and movements from the dance will be introduced to those who would like to participate. \n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
