Adventure Gospel – A New Opera by Orlandito

Artistic Director Alison Cook-Beatty has been commissioned to choreograph this Opera and the Dancers of Alison Cook Beatty Dance will be performing on August 17th!

Adventure Gospel is a compelling new opera by Orlandito that delves into the tale of Oscar White, a man who spent 27 years in the woods surviving by stealing from the local community. When caught, his extraordinary tale divides the town, sparking a moral debate about his fate. Enter Rosario Davez, a young, ambitious journalist determined to uncover the truth behind White’s actions. The opera explores themes of isolation, the longing for freedom, and the complexity of human dependence, confronting the choice between self-imposed exile and the redemptive power of true community.
