Alison Cook-Beatty, Artistic Director

Alison Cook-Beatty is a New York City–based choreographer, educator, and the Founder and Artistic Director of Alison Cook Beatty Dance, established in 2012. Her choreography has been presented at venues including Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, the Hudson Valley Dance Festival, and theaters, festivals, and site-specific locations across the United States.
Cook-Beatty earned her BFA in Dance with high honors from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and previously performed with the Paul Taylor Dance Company and Taylor 2. In addition to her choreographic work, she is a dedicated educator, teaching ballet, modern, and repertory to students of all ages. Her choreography and teaching have been commissioned and presented by institutions including The Joffrey Ballet School, The Ailey School, New York University, Marymount Manhattan College, and the Steffi Nossen School of Dance.
Under her leadership, Alison Cook Beatty Dance has grown into a respected 501(c)(3) nonprofit with national reach, supported by New York State Council on the Arts, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, New England Foundation for the Arts, Dance/NYC, and the O’Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation. In 2026, the company celebrates its 13th anniversary.
